Apparently I'm on a technology kick right now because I can't seem to stay away from the gadgets. My latest...3D television. It's going to be the wave of the future.
I admit that when I first heard about 3D TV I thought it sounded pretty gimicky, but I've changed my mind. I stopped by Best Buy on my dinner break and stumbled upon this display (what you don't see is the TV I'm looking at), and what I saw was AMAZING!
It reminded me so much of the early days of HDTV and seeing a picture that clear for the first time. 3D does to HD, what HD did to standard definition 10 years ago. The display demo was showing sports and nature scenes (just like the HD demos did a decade ago) and the clarity and detail that I saw was truly jaw dropping. I was literally ohhhwing and awwwing out loud. I even saw a lady take her young child under her arm and usher him away from "the crazy guy in the weird glasses".
Check it out for yourself...but remember where you heard it first.
When the glasses become more advanced, maybe I'll jump on board. Right now the glasses are cumbersome and you have to have your head level to see the 3D picture correctly. I also don't know if I trust what those glasses will do to my eyesight after multiple uses. I love my 20/15 vision!
