You Never Know

One of the best things about being able to call PETCO Park your office is that you never know who you're going to run into at work. For instance today, halfway through our pregame show I see my old friend Bob Kennedy cruising up to the set out of the corner of my eye.

I first met Bob back in 2002 when I was a rookie on the Padres Pregame show. I did a story on him that year because Bob is an SDSU baseball Hall of Fame member from his time playing with the Aztecs back in the 40's. The thing is...that's not the only hall of fame he is a member of. He's also a member of the Senior Softball Hall of Fame and still plays ball twice a week to this day...2 weeks before his 88th birthday.

88 years old?!?!? Are you kidding me? I hope I move as well as he does when I'm 68! Aside from being a great athlete Bob truly is a wonderful man. Humble and kind and seemingly never without a smile on his face. He totally made my day today.
